OSTAS 2019 - OTAGO SOUTHLAND THEATRE AWARDS

It was exciting stuff to have received the following nominations and although we did not receive any awards this year we know it is an honour to make the nomination list.

The nominations were all for Nunsense - written by Dan Goggin and Directed by Bryan Atiken

  • Best Proprieties - Nunsense

  • Best Set - Nunsense

  • Best Vocal Work by a Company - Nunsense

  • Best Ensemble Number - Nunsense - “Holier than Thou”

  • Best Musical Direction - Kelly Gillan - Nunsence

  • Best Leading female in a musical - Jules Molloy - Reverend Mother - Nunsense

  • Best leading male in a Musical - Nick Meissel - Sr Mary Amnesia - Nunsense

  • Best Overall Show - Nunsense

We were thrilled that Clyde Theatre Group received OSTA awards for the acclaimed

“Daughters of Heaven” written by Michelanne Foster and Directed by Barry Gibbonns

  • Hannah Anderson - for her portrayal of Pauline Parker received “Best Leading Female in a Play” and

  • Nick Meissel - for his portrayal of Alan Brown and JP.

    Also we were thrilled that West Otago Theratical Sociey received two top awards for their production of “Les Miserables” by Herbert Kretzmer directed by Margie Rea

    Best Leading Male in a Musical “ awarded to Bruce Potter for his performance as Jean Valjean and to Craig Wadsworth as Enjolras as best supporting actor.
